Final Fantasy VII Revelation gets an April 8, 2027 PS5 release date

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will launch on PlayStation 5 on April 8, 2027. The announcement appeared on PlayStation Blog on September 3 alongside new gameplay from State of Play.

The company describes Revelation as the concluding entry in the remake series, following Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth. Exploration includes travel aboard the Highwind airship, while chocobo companion Piko serves as both a mount and a combat ally.

A new FITS system changes characters’ abilities through specialized outfits. Square Enix names Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner as the four types. Players can also switch party members during exploration and choose who handles certain quests.

The announcement confirms the return of Queen’s Blood with a storyline centered on Red XIII. Premium editions include a Story Expansion Pass and 24-hour early access; those extras should not be confused with the standard release date.
