Capcom
Capcom has officially pulled back the curtain on Arjun, the next DLC fighter coming to Street Fighter 6.
A new gameplay trailer released on September 8 gives players their first full look at how Arjun fights, and he is shaping up to be one of the most physically imposing characters added to the game so far.
Arjun will join the Street Fighter 6 roster on October 13, 2026 as the second character in the Year 4 Character Pass. He will be available through the Year 4 Character Pass and Year 4 Ultimate Pass, while players will also be able to purchase him separately using Fighter Coins.
Arjun Brings a Different Kind of Power
Arjun is a fighter from India who uses Yoga Breathing techniques, but his style is very different from Dhalsim.
Instead of relying on long-range limbs and constant movement, Arjun is built around raw power, heavy strikes and pressure.
Capcom describes him as a slower fighter who sacrifices speed for strength. Some of his attacks can deal recoverable damage even when they are blocked, giving him a way to wear opponents down without always landing a clean hit. He also has access to projectiles and traps that help him control space during a fight.
The gameplay shown so far includes attacks such as the Arm of Justice punch, the Cruel Shoulder tackle and several breathing-based techniques that allow Arjun to pressure opponents from different ranges.
His overall style looks focused on forcing opponents to make decisions. Sitting back and blocking may not always be enough, while getting too close could leave players dealing with Arjun's powerful close-range attacks.
A Fighter Looking for Justice
Arjun's story also plays a major role in his character.
According to Capcom's official description, Arjun previously worked as a police officer in India. His life changed after his trusted partner was murdered and Arjun was framed for the crime.
Now living as a fugitive, he is trying to uncover the truth behind his partner's death while clearing his own name.
That background gives Arjun a much more serious motivation than simply entering the tournament looking for stronger opponents.
It should also give Capcom plenty of room to expand his story through Street Fighter 6's World Tour mode and other character interactions.
Arjun Is the Second Year 4 Fighter
Arjun is the second character being added through Street Fighter 6's Year 4 lineup.
He follows Yasmine, who joined the game before him as another completely new fighter. Capcom is continuing to mix original characters into Street Fighter 6 instead of relying only on returning fan favorites.
That approach has helped Street Fighter 6 continue expanding its identity more than three years after the game originally launched.
Alongside Arjun's upcoming release, Capcom has also introduced an Arjun Arrives! Fighting Pass and limited-time New Challengers artwork and effects inspired by the Street Fighter movie.
Street Fighter 6 Keeps Growing
Street Fighter 6 has continued to receive new fighters, events and balance updates since its original release in 2023.
Arjun adds another playstyle to an already diverse roster, and his slower, power-focused approach could make him especially interesting for players who prefer controlling the pace of a match instead of constantly rushing opponents.
The biggest question now is how strong his recoverable damage and pressure tools will be once competitive players get their hands on him.
We will not have to wait much longer to find out.
Arjun joins Street Fighter 6 on October 13, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
